As the Managing Scientist, Coronial Services, you will report to the Executive Director, FSS, and be responsible for the development and implementation of coronial operational policy across the state, in partnership with the Chief Forensic Pathologist.
You will be accountable for providing effective leadership, management and innovation to the FSS work units associated with coronial service delivery, including Mortuary, Specialised Support, Forensic Toxicology and Coronial Family Services.
You will work closely with the Principal Chief Scientist, Anatomical Pathology PQ to optimise state-wide coronial and non-coronial mortuary services; and be an expert scientific and operational coronial resource for the Chief Forensic Pathologist FSS and Chief Pathologist PQ-FSS, Discipline Director, Anatomical Pathology PQ, the PQ-FSS Mortuary Working Party and other stakeholder groups, e.g., PQ-FSS Laboratory Managers, HHS', Coroners, Department of Justice, and Queensland Police.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and skill, or the ability to rapidly acquire expert knowledge, of complex Forensic Pathology and Forensic Toxicology services and the factors critical to effective service delivery at organisational, state and national levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage an integrated multidisciplined service of a complex nature to ensure the maintenance of legislative, administrative and professional clinical standards using established principles / procedures.
- Demonstrated advanced negotiation, consultative, communication and interpersonal skills with both internal and external clients, to deliver positive outcomes.
- Proven ability to provide a client focussed service and liaise with clinical and managerial staff in the implementation and provision of an integrated service, meeting the requirements of varied stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated personal qualities of leadership and integrity, and proven focus upon professional development.
- High level of knowledge, expertise and skill in the management of human, financial and physical resources of a large diverse workplace in line with the strategic direction of PQ-FSS.
