The Role:
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Director or Staff Specialist in Internal Medicine to join this fantastically located facility. Only a few hours drive north of Brisbane this facility is situated on QLDs beautiful coast line on the door step of some of the best beaches in the world and near to an internationally recognised natural wonder. The location is a major tourist attraction in itself so the local infrastructure is extremely well developed including good restaurants, shopping, private schools and a wide range of activities.

From a clinical perspective the hospital services a varied demographic including a local population of around 80,000 on top of which there are up to 1,000,000 tourists per year.

The role the hospital are now looking to fill is that of Clinical Director for the Department of Internal Medicine. In this role you will be managing a team of 5 full time consultants and a number of part time and Visiting Medical Officers below which is a team of 10-12 Registrars, PHOs and RMOs.
This is a leadership role in what is a busy department. Your role will encompass both the management of the department combined with clinical duties in line with how you want to operate. Most sub specialties can be accommodated within the unit.

The Location:
The hospital is located on an idyllic part of the Queensland coast. With over 300 days of sunshine each year there is an abundance of outdoor activities. Popular attractions include Riverbank Parklands, a riverfront parkland attraction, the coastal strip and large neighbouring islands, the vast majority of which is national park.

The Hospital:
With a local population of around 100,000 and drainage population of almost double this is a busy facility. The hospital is currently being redeveloped with over $240 Million being spent which will include a new ED, refurbishment and upgrade to the Paediatrics, maternity, Renal and Rehab wards.

The Requirements:
To be considered for this role you will need to have at least three years experience working at consultant level and either hold or be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA.
