The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Allied Health Seniors (Complex Care and MAPS) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide high-level clinical decision-making to support patients on discharge from hospital and for patients in the community
  • Provide high level, clinical services, advice and navigation for patients who receive service through Gold Coast Health
  • Be an enabler of safe, timely and sustainable discharge of patients with the aim of reducing preventable hospital admissions and re-admissions
  • Contribute to the development and integration of Allied Health services within the Complex Care Team
  • Provide clinical oversight and practice supervision

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A tertiary degree (or equivalent) in Nutrition and Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work or Speech Pathology from a recognised tertiary institution
  • AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Psychologist only)
  • Eligibility for membership of Dietitians Association of Australia, Australian Association of Social Workers or Speech Pathology Australia (Dietitian, Social Worker and Speech Pathologist only)
  • Working with Children Check (Dietitian, Social Worker and Speech Pathologist only)
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Driver Licence
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed

Salary

  • Permanent full time or permanent part time (several positions, hrs negotiable)
  • Base salary ranging from $115 049 - $123 799 per annum or $58.02 - $62.43 per hour

The Complex Discharge Service is a multi-disciplinary service designed to deliver specialist clinical assistance, advice and support for inpatients pending discharge, patients in transit between hospital and their home, and people in the community. Based at Robina.
